Global staff have had to learn different ways of operating as their organisations have expanded internationally. Not just in terms of legal and regulatory structures and processes but more importantly with regard to diverse cultural values, assumptions and behaviours. We believe that cultural intelligence and global competence are integral dimensions of performance improvement for global staff.

Global coaching is highly effective in developing international competence both before and particularly during assignments. Because coaching is tailored to meet specific individual needs and experiences, it has rapid and effective impact on performance and is recognised as one of the most powerful ways of developing people.

Our coaches have the business experience as well as the global knowledge and insight to support performance improvement where international activity is a dimension of individuals’ work. But we know that coaching does not always fit easily with business people from other cultures and have the understanding and skills to coach people whose expectations of their work and the coaching process may be very different from those dominant in the Western world.
