High Performance Teams

  • Defining team purpose and values
  • Designing interventions that build performance
  • Developing new ways of team working

For many organisations teams and team working are at the heart of their operational structures. But all teams are different in nature and context. They can be new or mature, self-managing, permanent or temporary project teams, they may operate independently or collaborate with other teams, may be stable or changing following restructure or merger, virtual or global teams who seldom or never meet face to face. Whatever the nature or challenges of the team, creating high performance is critical.

Effective team working is not just about building team relationships or a positive working environment, it concerns business-focused issues such as business objectives, priorities and accountabilities, decision-making processes, individual contributions and responsibilities as well as plans and performance standards for team delivery.

Developing high performance teams requires an understanding of both the context and nature of the team and its objectives. We use our assessment methodologies and team models to understand this complexity and diagnose existing team performance before designing interventions that meet specific team and business needs. We then work with the team and its members to open up new ways of working to create committed and effective teams.
